But while boundless panoramas get all the attention, one of the most remarkable assets of the region is not a point on the horizon, but the ground beneath your feet. Protecting this delicate ecosystem has become an urgent concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As travel returns, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/orgs\/1207\/2019-visitation-numbers.htm\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">upward trend in visitation<\/a>&nbsp;at national parks is likely to continue, and with it, increased potential for bad behavior. Besides littering, last year\u2019s crowds&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.com\/travel\/article\/visitors-vandalize-trespass-national-parks-during-coronavirus-pandemic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">trespassed<\/a>&nbsp;and even vandalized structures.
